Emily was born in Southern Arkansas in 1974. Growing up was tough. For the first 12 years of her life, she was abused, but she survived. With her grandmothers words of wisdom, strength and protection and also the fact she own a gun and wasn't afraid to use it, Emily made it, and has became the strong and beautiful woman she is today.
Moving to Denver, Colorado with her Mother, brother and new stepfather in 1990 was the best thing that ever happened to her. Shortly after that in 1991 she gave birth to her daughter. She married in 1992. Her husband adopted her daughter and made her his own. A year in a half later she gave birth to her son. With Emily just a Senior in High School, she managed to graduate with both of her children at her graduation. Things didn't work out with her and her husband, they divorced after 8 years. In 1999 she gave birth to another girl. Shortly after that she married her daughters father in 2000. Again, things did not work out, she was divorced 5 years later in 2005. Vowing to never get married again, she met her 3rd husband and was married in 2009. Still married today, she will tell you she has met her soulmate.
Emily created a Photography business in 2010 after realizing she could not afford her daughters Senior photos. She gave her little photography business a name in 2011, after going though so many names she finally decided on MCL Photography. Her business is named after her children, using the 1st letter in each of their names. Emily graduated at The Art Institute of Colorado with an Associates degree in Business and Digital Image Management in December 2012, she pursued her dream of becoming a business owner and photographer in the Sports industry. She plans to continue to run her small Colorado photography business while shooting major sports teams. She has always wanted to create a business where families could afford beautiful images of their loved ones, and not break the bank doing so.
Today, Emily has met that goal. Today, she is living her dream.
